The District is asking the public of San Patricio County for the authority to impose a tax rate of not more than $0.01 per $100 valuation. If the tax authority is approved, the District will develop a budget, consider the exemption that the board wants to give, and, depending on the certified appraised value, set a tax rate . The board does not think at this time that the tax rate will be more than $0.005 per $100, but that will depend on numerous factors.      The San Patricio County Groundwater Conservation District (SPCGCD) is committed to management and protection of the groundwater resources of San Patricio County. SPCGCD is committed to maintaining a sustainable, adequate, reliable, cost effective, high quality source of groundwater to promote the vitality, economy, and environment of the County. SPCGCD will work with and for the citizens and landowners of the County and cooperate with other local, regional, and state agencies involved in study and management of groundwater. SPCGCD will take no action without full consideration of the groundwater needs of the citizens of the County.
